"Recurring Motifs as Springboards for Design"
by Dawn White
of First Light Designs

Circles and kaleidoscopes figure prominently in many of Down's original quilts and wall hangings. Her presentation and trunk show amply illustrate how these motifs -- and a few others -- have influenced her choices in both quilt designs and fabrics..

Business meeting at 10:00 AM
Program at 11:00 AM

1:00 - 4:00
Workshop: Going in Circles

Cost: $25 members -- $35 for non-members

In this three-hour workshop, Dawn demonstrates how to make perfect inset circles without having to pin concave and convex seams. Her fun and foolproof method – “magic!” according to those who have learned it -- involves a freezer paper pattern.

She also shows you an easy technique for finished-edge appliqué circles using fusible interfacing and a quick way to make raw-edge appliqué circles using either Steam-a-Seam 2 or Heat n Bond Lite.
